Your club has a responsibility too:
1. Educate and Empower Girls -
Provide accurate, age-appropriate information about puberty, menstruation, and self-care in a supportive environment.
2. Normalise Conversations -
Break down stigma and taboo around menstruation by fostering open discussion among peers, coaches, and families.
3. Promote Participation in Sport –
Ensure girls feel confident to remain active in football and other sports, understanding how to manage their cycle while continuing to play.
4. Support Clubs in Duty of Care –
Equip clubs with a wellbeing initiative that complements their focus on physical and mental development, showing commitment to girls’ holistic health.
5. Strengthen Community Connections –
Involve parents, caregivers, and coaches in the process, creating a stronger, more inclusive support network around young female athletes.
